National Civil Protection Meeting 14-15-16 September 2023
Our coordinators in the Canary Islands, Santiago Carlos y Cantabria, Nerea Cachorro, gave voice to the families of our missing persons and the work we do within the European project LOST2, in the National Meeting of Civil Protection held in Ontaneda – Cantabria, Spain, on the 14, 15, and 16th September 2023.
More than 500 civil protection professionals and volunteers from the Spanish territory met in this conference where the protocol of disappearances and the immediate activation of outdoors searches for missing persons were discussed.
Civil protection units are essential when searching for a missing person outdoors, as they have sufficient material and human resources to assist the police in this endeavor.
These human resources and an immediate activation can give positive results and locate the missing person in a short period of time and, possibly, alive.
The members of sosdesaparecidos Santiago Carlos, Nerea Cachorro and Iván González, explained in their intervention all about the European project LOST2 and the work being carried out by all the participating European partners to create a professional figure to help the families. They are committed to unifying criteria in the search, prevention, assistance and awareness of the problem of missing persons.
